Recently PlayStation had this awesome spring sale on the PS Store. I dug to the deepest ends of this sale hoping to find a game that I’ve had my eye on, but didn’t want to pay full price for. Then, like a candle in the dark, I saw it. Dead Alliance was there sitting at a measly $2.99. Now, I’ve known of it for quite some time, but cpuld never fully commit to purchase it. I remember when it first came out, all the video game websites, and sad little YouTubers trashed it for some of the stupidest reasons.
They would say the graphics look like it belongs on a PS3, or the content is lacking. Some of that maybe true, but people have to understand that this game wasn’t a AAA project. There wasn’t a budget of a huge corporate video game publisher behind it. The things the developers did with this game is very impressive, and left us with a shooter that looked outside the norms of the genre.
Beautiful Chaos

What I love most about this game is that it knows exactly what it is, and doesn’t try to change that for the fans of other franchises. For those who haven’t played it yet, Dead Alliance is a first person shooter set in a zombie apocalypse. Two rival factions, the Texas Confederation and the Southern California Protectorate, are locked in a brutal conflict for what supplies are left. The game delivers the standard two teams shooting it out, but adds a genre defining change. Zombies populate the map attacking any player that gets too close, however, players aren’t defenseless. Armed with several devices that can distract the undead, and even take them over to send towards your enemies!
The game flow is all about medium range combat and the manipulation of the undead hordes. With your trusty P.A.M grenade, you are able to toss it into a group of zombies, temporarily making them ignore you and target enemy players. It’s a fantastic flow, and delivers some amazing moments. Getting a “weaponized zombie” kill is honestly some of the most satisfying kills to get in the game. Not only do you get to shame them, but they’re bodies join the ranks of the undead! It’s a fantastic change to such a flooded market.

Not only does the game have superb gameplay, but…..IT HAS FULL BOT SUPPORT!!! As you know, we here at 101 Militia Gaming aren’t the most competitive bunch of gamers. That’s why we gravitate towards competitive like games that have full A.I. support. Games like the old Unreal Tournaments/Championships are the gold standard of full bot support, and any game like that is always at the top of our list.
I’ve covered it before, but YouTubers have become a cancer on the video game industry. Viewers will watch an independent review and have every little issue, no matter how miniscule it may be, and immediately be turned off to the game. That shouldn’t be the case. You’ll be missing out on so many amazing games like this one! Dead Alliance is a fantastic game that thinks outside the box with its gameplay, and delivers some fun moments that no other game can replicate. If you’re in the mood for an awesome change from the traditions FPS formula give Dead Alliance a try, and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
For all things geek culture keep it right here with 101 Militia Gaming!
